The Assembly Mechanic is an entry level position and will report to the Shop Supervisor and will interact with the manufacturing manager. The Assembly Mechanic will be responsible for performing functions associated with all manufacturing operations. Assembly Mechanic Level I will discusses layout and assembly procedures with the Shop Supervisor.
The Assembly Mechanic will be expected to assemble a variety of new mechanical equipment, repair, maintain, and test equipment being manufactured according to predetermined timelines and technical specifications as set forth by the Shop Supervisor and Manufacturing Manager. The Assembly Mechanic will be responsible for ensuring the quality systems are adhered to throughout the project life cycle.
The Assembly Mechanic will be responsible for enhancing department and the entire organization's reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishments and faults in the manufacturing process, as well as exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
These responsibilities and requirements are considered minimum requisites. These requisites may be modified from time-to-time as the company's internal systems and/or processes evolve in continual response to changing market conditions, and/or customer requests
Responsibilities
Assist in the assembly of base frames, sub frames, center section frames and stabilization components of EMI inspection equipment and other tasks as may be assigned by team lead or manager.
Assist in the assembly of mechanical assemblies of the EMI inspection equipment (i.e. pinch rollers, encoder brackets ect).
Assist in the assembly of inspection systems to be mounted on center section frame
Assist in the assembly of handling equipment (i.e. conveyors, pipe loading and unloading ect)
Ability to safely operate machining equipment such as mills, lathes, saws ect.
Ability to operate and utilize tools associated with the job
Assist in the installation of equipment into the designated testing line
Report issues in design or assembly to Shop Supervisor
Assist with the general maintenance of EMI equipment, hydraulic equipment, pneumatic equipment and all other shop equipment

Job Requirements
Minimum 1 year related experience required
Basic mechanical knowledge
Basic machining knowledge and familiarity with drills, drill press, tapping operation.
Ability to follow directions from supervisor and stay on task
Ability to work with others in the manufacturing team to complete the required tasks in a timely fashion.
Maintain a full set of tools required for the job.
Detail Oriented
Desire to learn and grow the position.
Ensure the safety of oneself and co-workers, while striving for zero safety incidents
Flexible - ability to rapidly respond to new situations and perform multiple tasks
Wears appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including a steel toed boots, safety glasses ect.
Must adhere to company safety policies and procedures
Lifting requirements of up to 75 lbs
Must be able to read and write in the English
