We are seeking 2 Assemblers with various experience to join a local manufacturing company in Oconomowoc, WI for a direct hire.

Pay: $20-27/HR

Description:

REPORTS TO: Shop Supervisor

 

FUNCTION: Perform diversified mechanical and electrical assembly operations to build equipment per drawings, standards, and safety procedures. Job responsibilities increase in complexity and autonomy through five progressive levels, guided by the Assembly Job Ladder and Training Matrix.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Assemblers are responsible for manufacturing mechanical and/or electrical products using defined processes, tools, and documentation. The position requires increasing levels of skill, leadership, and independence as employees advance from Assembler I through Assembler V. Development is structured through a skill-based progression matrix with hands-on training and task certifications.

 

This role offers a high level of complexity and variety, with opportunities to work on a wide range of products. No two days are the same—this is far from an assembly line environment. The position emphasizes independent work, though collaboration with team members is occasionally required. It’s ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, ever-changing setting and enjoys tackling diverse challenges.

 

General Duties (All Levels)

1. Use hand/power tools and test equipment per safety standards.

 

2. Lift up to 50 pounds and operate cranes/forklifts (with certification).

 

3. Follow quality standards and work instructions precisely.

 

4. Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and layouts.

 

5. Identify defects and initiate corrective actions or escalate.

 

6. Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations.

 

Assembler I

1. Assist with basic mechanical and electrical assembly tasks by following detailed work instructions.

 

2. Operate hand and power tools under direct supervision.

 

3. Learn to use equipment such as tube straighteners and hydrotest machines.

 

4. Begin training in manual tube bending techniques.

 

5. Participate in safety and quality training programs.

 

6. Support general housekeeping and organizational efforts.

 

7. Learn basic administrative tasks within the Kinetic ERP system.

 

Assembler II

1. Perform all Assembler I responsibilities with increased independence.

 

2. Begin learning pipe fitting and threading techniques.

 

3. Demonstrate proficiency in manual tube bending.

 

4. Complete certification in hydrotesting procedures.

 

5. Read and interpret basic blueprints and electrical/mechanical schematics.

 

6. Conduct basic administrative tasks within the Kinetic ERP system.

 

Assembler III

1. Work independently on most assigned builds and systems.

 

2. Assemble complex mechanical and electrical components based on drawings and layout specifications.

 

3. Perform wiring and tubing tasks with accuracy and consistency.

 

4. Operate CNC tube bending equipment.

 

5. Identify and troubleshoot part or assembly issues.

 

6. Provide administrative tasks within the Kinetic ERP system.

 

Assembler IV

1. Execute intricate, high-value assemblies with minimal guidance.

 

2. Hold and maintain rigging and crane operation certifications.

 

3. Demonstrate advanced proficiency in electrical assembly work.

 

4. Lead small-scale assembly projects or coordinate workflow planning.

 

5. Perform advanced administrative tasks within the Kinetic ERP system.

 

6. Train and support onboarding of new employees and less experienced team members.
