Job Description
ASME Code Welder
Pay: $34.00–$36.00 per hour (DOE)
Schedule: Full-time Direct Hire
Location: West Tulsa
We are seeking experienced ASME Code Welders who can walk in and pass a real-world weld test. This is not an entry-level role. We need professionals who understand procedure, precision, and pride in their work.
If you can pass the test, you will earn the rate.
Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality welding in accordance with ASME Section IX standards
- GTAW (TIG), SMAW (Stick), and FCAW welding on pipe and plate
- Interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and weld procedures
- Maintain weld integrity, fit-up accuracy, and dimensional tolerances
- Work closely with fitters, inspectors, and supervisors to meet production and code requirements
- Follow all safety guidelines and jobsite procedures
Required Weld Tests
All candidates must successfully complete the following:
- 6" Schedule 80 – 6G Position
- GTAW (Stringer root and hot pass)
- SMAW (Fill and Cap)
- 3G FCAW – 1/2" Plate Test
- Fitter Test
These are pass/fail qualification tests. Only candidates who pass all required tests will move forward.
Qualifications
- Proven experience welding to ASME code
- Strong GTAW, SMAW, and FCAW skills
- Ability to perform 6G pipe welding confidently
- Ability to pass X-ray and/or bend testing as required
- Experience fitting pipe and reading blueprints
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
