Location: California
Employment Type: Part-Time (10–20 hours/week, potential to transition to full-time) Compensation: $40–$60/hour (DOE)
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Architectural Structural Designer to support our growing projects in California. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in structural design, proficiency with CAD software, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
This role involves preparing and reviewing structural drawings, ensuring compliance with codes and regulations, and effectively coordinating with city agencies, architects, engineers, and project teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Create and develop structural designs using CAD software (Chief Architect highly ; AutoCAD, Revit also accepted).
• Apply knowledge of architectural principles, building systems, and construction practices to project designs.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes (IBC, CBC), zoning laws, and local regulations.
• Independently manage communication and approvals with city officials.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and external partners to ensure project success.
• Review, revise, and update structural drawings as needed.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Structural Engineering, or MEP-related field (required).
• California Professional Engineer (PE) license (required).
• Architect license or Civil Engineer license ().
• 5+ years of professional experience in structural design.
• Strong understanding of AutoCAD and familiarity with IBC and CBC codes.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
