We are seeking a detail-oriented CAD Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for translating design concepts into accurate architectural and structural drawings. You will bridge the gap between initial sketches and construction-ready blueprints, ensuring all plans meet technical specifications and building codes. The ideal candidate is a CAD expert who understands how buildings are put together and thrives on technical precision.
Responsibilities
- Technical Drafting: Prepare comprehensive architectural floor plans, elevations, and detailed structural drawings (foundations, framing, and sections).
- Collaboration: Work closely with architects and engineers to refine designs and resolve structural conflicts during the drafting phase.
- Revision Management: Perform redline updates and revisions to existing plans based on field notes or client feedback.
- Standards Compliance: Ensure all drawings adhere to company standards, local building codes, and industry regulations.
- Documentation: Maintain organized digital project files and assist in preparing permit submittal packages.
- Coordination: Communicate with site supervisors or contractors to clarify drawing details during construction.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree in Drafting/CAD, Architecture, or a related technical field (or equivalent work experience).
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in architectural or structural drafting.
- Software Mastery: Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD is required. Experience with Revit (BIM) or structural software is a significant plus.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of building materials, construction methods, and structural systems.
- Detail-Oriented: Ability to catch small errors in measurements or annotations that could impact construction.
