Based in Manchester, you’ll be part of a friendly and forward-thinking studio, working on a range of projects with real scope for progression.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop project briefs into considered design solutions aligned with the RIBA Plan of Work, working with a high degree of autonomy
  • Contribute to the coordination and delivery of pre-construction information across project stages
  • Produce efficient, sustainable and buildable design solutions
  • Ensure designs comply with UK regulations, British Standards and relevant Codes of Practice
  • Advise on material selection, considering performance, cost, and environmental impact
  • Prepare detailed technical specifications using NBS, supported by up-to-date manufacturer information
  • Support design development in line with project budgets, including value engineering where required
  • Participate in project reviews, coordination meetings and workshops
  • Assist in preparing and submitting planning, building regulations and building safety documentation
  • Liaise with statutory authorities and contribute to reports and submissions
  • Collaborate with clients, consultants, contractors and specialist teams
  • Support the management of design risks and maintain accurate project documentation
  • Assist during construction stages, including troubleshooting design-related issues

Skills & Experience

  • Qualified Architect (RIBA Part III) with ARB registration
  • Minimum 3+ years’ post-qualification experience within a UK architectural practice
  • Strong technical knowledge, including construction detailing and UK regulatory requirements
  • Experience in the education sector (desirable, not essential)
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of project delivery within a consultancy environment
  • Proficiency in design and visualisation tools such as SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit (BIM experience )
