Architect - LNG and Petrochem

Job DescriptionJob DescriptionOur client, a global engineering company specializing in energy transition and has an immediate need for an Architect or Architectural designer experienced in Petrochemical and LNG projects to join their team. The right candidate will be well compensated and will have some flexibility for remote work. Position SummaryPlans and conducts work within a global business unit requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, application, adaptation and modification of standard architectural techniques, procedures and criteria. Devises new approaches to solving problems encountered. Have at least 10+ years of specific experience in Petrochemical and LNG projects.Responsibilities

  • Plans architectural layout, prepares detailed architectural design and layout drawings for small buildings and portions of major buildings.
  • Prepares specifications and related documents.
  • Prepares building material interface details for review by senior personnel.
  • Prepares architectural designs and construction drawings using 2-D / 3-D computer aided design (CAD), presentation graphics and architectural models.
  • Coordinates work and collaborates with other project engineering disciplines. Review design drawings and documents submitted by suppliers and subcontractors for compliance with architectural and engineering requirements.
  • Participates in studies that require knowledge of principles and techniques commonly employed in architectural work.
  • Assists in preparation of forecasts, quantity take-offs and change orders.
  • Evaluates, selects applicable procedures and criteria, and applies standard architectural presentation techniques, using independent judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications.
  • Performs assignments that have clear and specified objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables for architectural discipline within a global business unit.
  • Reviews and recommends approval of design drawings and data for compliance with requirements.
  • Knowledge of design standards and guides.
  • Answer Request for Information (RFI) from building vendors.
  • Prepare Technical Bid Tabs (TBT) for buildings.
  • Be able to multi-task and at times, handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Job Knowledge

  • Technical knowledge of architectural concepts, techniques, materials and construction methods. Working knowledge of planning and control methods.
  • Understanding of the application of Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), relevant design guides on projects, and of architecture to plant constructability as applied to construction methods and materials.
  • Familiarity with construction practices and economics.
  • Knowledge of current computer applications for architectural design including computer aided design (CAD), both 2-D and 3-D, Autocad and/or Revit, and relevant Standard Computer Applications.
