Architect - Design-Led Property Developer (Client-Side Opportunity)

This is a rare opportunity for an Architect to join a growing, design-led property developer (+ contractor) that delivers its own projects from inception to completion.
Acting as client, principal designer, and principal contractor, this firm is a true “one-stop shop” … giving its architects full exposure across RIBA Stages 0 to 7, from early feasibility and planning through to technical coordination, procurement, and on-site delivery.

The successful candidate will be supported by the directors to build and lead their own team of Architectural Assistants and design professionals within the next 6 to 12 months, as the company continues to expand.

About the Developer…
This forward-thinking company delivers residential and mixed-use schemes across London, typically ranging from £2.5m to £15m GDV.
Recent projects have centred on retrofit, reconfiguration, and conversion schemes, often involving the addition of new floors, the optimisation of existing layouts, and the delivery of build-to-rent developments retained as part of their long-term investment portfolio.
The team is hands-on and design-driven, operating from a collaborative studio environment where architecture, interiors, and construction sit side by side. You’ll be working directly with the founding directors, registered architects and a property investment specialists, offering an invaluable blend of design, delivery, and commercial exposure.
The Role…
You will play a key role in supporting the directors across both live projects and new site feasibility studies. This is an opportunity to work closely with decision-makers and see how design, planning, and delivery all connect within a developer-led context.
Your Responsibilities Will Include…
- Developing and coordinating Revit-led design packages from feasibility through to construction.
- Producing technical drawings, bespoke joinery, and FF&E specifications for high-quality residential interiors.
- Managing coordination between architectural, interiors, and site delivery teams.
- Supporting feasibility studies and early-stage concept design for new development sites.
- Liaising directly with consultants, contractors, and suppliers as part of a tightly integrated in-house team.
- Gaining valuable contract administration experience, including assisting with sub-contractor agreements and procurement coordination.
(Prior experience in contract admin isn’t required, full training will be provided, but candidates with previous exposure to contract or tender documentation will naturally stand out).
Who We’re Looking For…
You’re a technically strong, Revit-proficient Architect who enjoys seeing projects through every stage, from feasibility to handover. You combine design sensitivity with buildability, and you’re comfortable working in a fast-paced, close-knit environment.
Key Requirements:
- Full Revit proficiency… able to manage, coordinate, and deliver Revit (BIM) based projects and drawing packages.
- Strong technical detailing skills, including interiors, joinery, and finishes.
- Experience delivering residential or mixed-use projects… ideally from feasibility through to completion, though strong experience across RIBA Stages 3 to 6 would also be highly valued.
- Confidence working directly with senior stakeholders, consultants and contractors.
- Immediate availability and a genuine interest in moving into the developer-side environment.
Desirable:
- Experience with retrofit or conservation-area schemes.
- Exposure to feasibility, appraisals, or early-stage design within development contexts.
