Job Description
Under general supervision, maintain, repair, and install electrical systems, services, and equipment for electrical projects and/or service task per the NEC. Maintain and provide for safe conditions and operations of all electrical systems for electrical projects or service task.
Job Responsibilities and Duties
· Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all company safety guidelines and OSHA requirements. Report any violations of policies, procedures, and guidelines immediately to supervisor.
· Install, repair, and connect power supply wiring, cables, raceway and electrical apparatus for electrical systems and components while following safety guidelines, electrical codes, manuals, specifications, drawings, schematics, and blueprints for new and existing facilities.
· Use of ladders, scaffolding, platform, scissor or boom lifts to work on electrical systems.
· Maintain equipment to ensure it is in good condition and can operate properly to be used safely; report any issues to immediate supervisor.
· Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit using rulers, measuring devices, hand tools, pipe threaders and benders.
· Adhere to all applicable requirements, including NEC, safety standards and local codes.
· Inventory and properly track supplies, equipment, tools, and machinery before and after use each day.
· Promote a Team environment and maintain company culture.
· Participate in safety, certifications, and educational training classes as provided by company.
· Diagnose and resolve problems in electrical circuits, systems and equipment utilizing testing instruments and equipment.
Job Skills & Qualifications
Education/Certifications
· Valid Texas Apprentice Electricians License
· Valid Texas driver’s license
· Must pass criminal background check and drug test
· High school diploma / GED
· Possess current NEC code book
Experience
· Minimum years of trade experience in the electrical construction industry for the Apprentice level type (1, 2, 3, or 4).
· High School Diploma or equivalent.
Special Knowledge/Skills
· Follow established safety procedures and techniques for use of tools, lifting, climbing, or other for best trade practice.
· Correct unsafe working conditions and report to supervisor immediately.
· Ability to learn to read and interpret basic specifications, drawings, blueprints, schematics, and written reference material.
· Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
· Ability to learn to perform mathematical calculations as needed for electrical application.
· Ability to diagnose and resolve electrical problems.
· Ability to use hand and power tools.
Equipment Used after proper training
· Multimeters, ohmmeters and miscellaneous testing equipment, wire pullers, pipe benders and threaders, hand and power tools (saws, drills, etc..), trencher, jackhammers, concrete saw, core machine, ladders, potential light truck or van.
Working Conditions- Mental/Physical and Environmental Factors
· Continual walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching and heavy lifting and carrying, and use of a variety of tools. Work in tiring and uncomfortable positions, around electrical systems, outside and inside work exposed to extreme temperatures.
