Applications Engineer – Industrial Valves Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Applications Engineer to join our Houston-based team, specializing in industrial valves. In this vital technical role, you will act as the primary resource for valve application, selection, and performance, working closely with internal teams and external customers. Your expertise will support tailored solutions that adhere to industry standards, enhance customer satisfaction, and drive our company's success in the industrial valve sector.

Applications Engineer – Industrial Valves Responsibilities

• Serve as the main technical resource for internal engineering, sales, and operations teams, as well as external clients.
• Recommend appropriate valve products based on detailed specifications, applications, and customer needs.
• Interpret customer specifications and prepare accurate quotations in alignment with technical requirements.
• Provide technical guidance on product performance, materials of construction, and relevant industry codes and standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address customer issues, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
• Review and manage technical documentation, including supplier drawings and compliance certifications.
• Conduct internal training sessions to share product knowledge and application best practices.
• Stay current on industry standards such as ASME, ANSI, API, ISO, and MSS to ensure compliance and technical accuracy.
• Support manufacturing and modification facilities to maintain product design integrity.
• Perform competitor product evaluations and keep abreast of market and industry trends.

Applications Engineer – Industrial Valves Position Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Strong knowledge of industrial valve types, including butterfly, ball, knife gate, gate, globe, and check valves.
• Familiarity with valve materials of construction and applicable industry standards (ASME, ANSI, API, ISO, MSS).
• Basic proficiency in AutoCAD, or a willingness to learn the software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and prepare accurate quotations.
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to review technical documentation and ensure compliance with standards.
• Willingness to travel as needed for customer visits, training, and technical support.
• Must successfully complete a background check and drug screening.
