Job Title: Anchor Foreman
Department: Offshore, Abu Dhabi
Job Purpose
Responsible for overseeing the positioning and management of anchors during barge setup and pipe-laying operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and accurate deployment of anchoring systems.
Principal Accountabilities

Assist the Barge Foreman in setting up the barge at work locations.

Prepare anchors, pennant wires, and buoys during barge mobilization.

Inspect the barge mooring system (anchor winches, anchor wires) and report findings to the Barge Foreman.

Plot anchor positions based on the approved anchor pattern or plan positions with senior colleague concurrence.

Monitor barge positioning during anchor repositioning using Anchor Handling Tugs (AHTS) to ensure correct alignment throughout pipe-laying operations.

Report accidents, incidents, and near-misses to senior colleagues for investigation.

Operate the tower for anchor handling and manage barge movement on anchors.

Record and maintain anchor handling documentation per vessel procedures.

Frequently inspect anchors, buoys, and pennant wires; verify anchor positioning once the barge is operational.

Assist the Barge Foreman with deck activities when anchor-related duties are minimal.

Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, Code of Conduct, and HSE standards.
Educational Qualifications & Certifications

Secondary School Certificate with a discipline-specific technical qualification, or equivalent
Experience
-
Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience in offshore or similar industries
Competencies

Good written and spoken English communication skills

Knowledge of offshore safety standards and training requirements

Familiarity with HSEMS, environmental awareness, hazardous materials, and waste handling

Experience using hand and power tools

Ability to work independently or as part of a team
