Analytical Scientist

Experienced Analytical Scientist required, based in Cheshire for a 6-month contract. Degree in Chemistry or similar essential, with recent, proven industrial experience in analysis using a range of techniques including HPLC, NMR, GC and/or wet chemistry analysis. Knowledge and experience of method development is also desirable but not essential.

Salary: £27,500 - £30,000 per annum (dependent on experience)



Term: 6-month contract



SRG are currently working with a global business who have developed an innovative chemical process with applications across coatings, construction materials and the automotive industry, as well other sectors. They are now looking for an Analytical Scientist to join their busy team, based at their site in Cheshire on a 6-month contract. This role will involve providing analytical support and expertise to the development team, using a range of analytical techniques and instrumentation. Candidates with experience in developing analytical methods will also support in developing both new and existing methods to aid the analysis. This role will suite candidates with recent industrial experience of analysis, and candidates from the chemical industry, as well as life science, pharmaceuticals and other sectors will be considered.

Role / Description



Conductanalytical testing to support development work using a range of techniques and instrumentation

This includes wet chemistry testing, NMR, HPLC, GC, GC-MS, LC-MS and others

Support development team, offering analytical support and expertise

Provide clear and accurate reports, ensuring well-documented and traceable data

Assist in validating and documenting suitable analytical methods and aligning methodologies

Potentially support in the development of appropriate analytical methods to support the quality processes



Requirements



Minimum BSc degree in Chemistry (or similar)

Recent, proven background in analysis and practical experience with a range of analytical techniques such as wet chemistry, HPLC, NMR, GC etc. (industrial experience may be from chemicals, FMCG, contract testing, environmental, etc.)

Experience of analytical method development or investigational analysis is desirable but not essential

Proactive and committed approach, with good communication and team-working skills
