The salary range for this position is $56,120 to $70,150 depending on experience level.
Job Summary
Provides technical support in voice network installation, documentation, voice network diagnostics, moves, adds and changes within the customer community voice network support for telecommunications equipment and questions from the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Responds to requests for voice and data communications connectivity that are related to moves, adds and changes within the customer community.
- Supports complex existing voice network systems and work to maintain and/or expand service levels.
- Maintains up-to-date documentation and procedures that define the operability of telephony environments.
- Responds to complex technical voice network facility hardware and software problems utilizing a variety of hardware and software testing tools.
- Tracks telephony equipment inventory.
- Implements new products and technologies.
- Provides voice network support after-hours and on-call.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- 2-4 years of IT experience, including voice network engineering experience.
- Knowledge of cable scanners, voice protocol analyzers, AT&T 110, BICS and Nortel 66 punch tools and demark facilities.
- Experience with the implementation of the EIA/TIA structured cabling architecture specifications and procedures.
- Proficient at the installation, configuration and troubleshooting of PBXs Key Systems, campus switches, voice, dial-in/dial-out central sites and DSU/CSU hardware.
- Associates degree in Computer Technologies or equivalent technical training required.
