Analog Design Engineer
Job Description
We are looking for a highly motivated Analog Design Engineer to take a leading role in the design of transmitter and receiver (Tx/Rx) analogue front-end circuits, with our client who specialize in innovative semiconductor IP solutions. This would be a hybrid role in Aachen, with 2-3 days onsite per week required.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop analog front-end circuits (e.g., LNAs, drivers, filters, bias circuits, mixers, amplifiers, clocking blocks) for high-speed data converters and communication front-ends.Develop and validate clocking, bias, and interface circuits that enable high-speed ADC/DAC operation.Perform system-level analysis and detailed circuit simulations (AC, noise, transient, Monte Carlo, corner cases) to ensure robust and reliable performance.Apply expertise in floorplanning, matching, shielding, and parasitic minimisation.Document design specifications, simulation results, and test methodologies.Your ProfileMSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, or a related field.Proven experience in analogue/mixed-signal circuit design for transmitters and receivers.Strong knowledge of LNAs, VGAs, drivers, mixers, and clocking circuits.Proficiency with EDA tools such as Cadence Virtuoso/Spectre, ADS, HSPICE, or equivalent.Deep understanding of linearity, noise, distortion, and trade-offs in Tx/Rx front-end circuits.Experience with behavioural modelling (Verilog-A, SystemVerilog-AMS).Skilled in full-custom analogue layout techniques, including layout extraction, verification, and sign-off.Familiarity with advanced CMOS process nodes.Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional team.QualificationsSenior Level: 6+ years of relevant experience.MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, or related field.By applying to this role you understand that we may collect your personal data and store and process it on our systems.
