If you’re energized by solving complex problems and keeping ammonia refrigeration systems running safely and efficiently, this role is your next step. You’ll work independently under general supervision, making sound technical decisions and documenting your impact every day.

What You’ll Tackle

• Operate, adjust, and repair industrial refrigeration equipment with a focus on ammonia systems
• Monitor system performance; act decisively when parameters drift from target
• Execute component replacements using LOTO and within PSM procedures
• Perform pump-outs/evacuations for safe valve replacement/repair
• Complete routine maintenance on warehouse assets aligned to OSHA requirements
• Measure, test, and calibrate with voltmeters, ohmmeters, pyrometers, and pressure gauges
• Validate work quality against blueprints, specifications, and safety standards
• Use structured troubleshooting to identify root causes and recommend fixes
• Test safety equipment for compliance with OSHA and operational standards
• Capture accurate PM data and work history in the Oracle CMMS
• Maintain a 6S workspace and support general housekeeping
• Work flexible schedules, including on-call, nights, and weekends when needed
• Assist with related assignments as required

Qualifications—Choose Your PathPath A

• High school diploma or GED
• 2+ years of industrial refrigeration maintenance

Path B

• 3+ years of industrial maintenance plus a relevant certification (RETA, Garden City, EPA Universal, etc.)
• Completion of assigned industrial refrigeration/maintenance courses
• Ability to troubleshoot controls (ALTA/Allen-Bradley, etc.)
• HAZMAT training with willingness to obtain and maintain certification
• Experience with Oracle Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

Stand-Out Experience

• Cold storage operations
• Ammonia refrigeration maintenance
• RETA CARO or CIRO credentials
• Oracle CMMS familiarity
• Component-level diagnostics across refrigeration equipment
• Coaching and upskilling junior technicians

Can You Meet the Demands?

• Operate in environments as low as –20&degree;F and in outdoor heat/cold/precipitation
• Work above 35 ft. on platforms and catwalks; climb ladders and stairs
• Stand, walk, push, pull, reach, stoop, kneel, and crouch frequently
• Lift/move up to 50 lbs. regularly
• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Meet visual needs: close, distance, , and depth perception; glasses required when working with ammonia (no contacts)
• Pass a physical and respiratory exam
