We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our Federal Government Division team and contribute to our continued growth and success.
Position Overview
As a Construction Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects. You will work closely with owners, clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure comprehensive cost analysis and budget planning. Your role is crucial in helping our team make informed decisions and maintain profitability on each project.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field ().
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Construction Estimator in Federal Government Construction Projects.
- Proficient in estimating software such as Sage Estimating, Onscreen Takeoff, and Bluebeam. Also, have a good understanding of RS Means.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in cost calculations.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyze design documents, specifications, and other project documentation to prepare cost estimates.
- Collaborate with owners, clients, architects, and engineers to understand the scope and requirements of projects.
- Obtain and evaluate material and subcontractor quotes to ensure competitive pricing.
- Prepare detailed project budgets, cost breakdowns, and timelines.
- Conduct risk assessments and provide value engineering solutions.
- Maintain and update cost databases and estimating software.
- Present estimates to management and clients, explaining cost drivers and assumptions.
