Job Summary:
The Alarm & Physical Security Field Technician is responsible for installing, servicing, and maintaining security equipment at banking and financial institution locations, including alarms, access control, camera systems (CCTV), vaults, night depositories, and drive-up systems. This role ensures customer security systems are fully operational, compliant, and maintained to high standards of safety and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation & Service
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair:

- Intrusion alarm systems (e.g., DMP, Honeywell, Bosch)
- Access control systems (e.g., HID, Brivo, Openpath)
- CCTV and surveillance systems (e.g., DW, Verkada, Avigilon)
- Vault doors, safe deposit boxes, and night depositories
- Drive-up equipment and pneumatic tube systems (e.g., Hamilton, Comco)
- Door hardware and security locks
- Perform system testing, programming, and user training for new installations and upgrades.
- Conduct service calls to diagnose and resolve technical issues on-site.
Customer Support & Compliance
- Provide professional and courteous support to bank and credit union staff.
- Ensure all work meets customer, regulatory, and internal standards (including FDIC and FFIEC guidance as applicable).
- Document all work performed including parts used, time on-site, and resolution steps.
Operational Efficiency
- Maintain accurate inventory of tools, parts, and equipment.
- Ensure timely and complete reporting through service management platforms (e.g., ServiceTitan, NetSuite FSM).
- Coordinate with dispatchers and project managers to optimize daily routing and service performance.
Safety & Quality Control
- Follow OSHA and company safety standards during all on-site visits.
- Identify and report potential physical or cybersecurity vulnerabilities in customer sites.
Qualifications:
Required:
- 2+ years of experience in alarm or physical security system installation/service
- Working knowledge of low-voltage electronics and cabling
- Strong mechanical aptitude for vaults, locks, and physical devices
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to pass background checks required for working at financial institutions

- Certifications in alarm and access control systems (DMP Tech, BICSI, etc.)
- Experience servicing security systems in banking or high-security environments
- OSHA 10/30 or manufacturer-specific safety certifications
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals (IP addresses, POE, routers/switches)
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- Travel to multiple bank and credit union branches daily
- Work performed both indoors and outdoors in varied weather conditions
- Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs and work in confined spaces or on ladders
- May require occasional overnight travel depending on territory coverage
