When you arrive on the shop floor, the day starts with a deep dive into build prints. You translate customer requirements into precise jigs and fixtures, calculate missing dimensions, and lay out designs using the right materials. Throughout the day, you’ll establish and coordinate reference points and tooling holes using straightedges and precision measuring tools, ensuring everything aligns flawlessly.

As the lead on the tooling build, you guide a team fitting and assembling components for aerospace customers, troubleshoot issues, and handle repairs or rework as needed. You’ll also sketch concepts and prepare clear drawings for the fabrication department, and when required, jump on the equipment—lathes, Bridgeports, and grinders—to keep the work moving. Other tasks may be assigned to support delivery and quality milestones.

What You’ll Own

  • Execute builds from prints to meet customer specifications
  • Calculate unspecified dimensions and lay out designs
  • Set reference points and tooling holes with metrology tools
  • Lead a team assembling tooling for aerospace applications
  • Perform tooling repairs and rework
  • Create sketches/drawings for fabrication as needed
  • Operate shop equipment (lathes, Bridgeports, grinders) when required
  • Handle additional duties to meet deadlines and quality targets

What You Bring

  • 5+ years as a fixture builder in the aerospace industry
  • Solid understanding of geometric tolerancing (GD&T)
  • CATIA V5 and ENOVIA experience is a plus
  • Strong blueprint reading capability
  • Strong math, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Outstanding organization, follow-up, and deadline awareness
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and AS91000 quality standards
  • High school diploma or equivalent
