Advanced Manufacturing Engineer in Detroit

What You Will Be Doing

• Specify, design, and support the build of manufacturing equipment, including writing RFQs and managing supplier interactions
• Lead equipment installation and commissioning activities, including FAT/SAT and ramp to production
• Evaluate and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, yield, and overall performance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, supply chain) to ensure successful equipment launches
• Present equipment designs and updates in design reviews with leadership and scaling teams
• Support PFMEA, Control Plans, SOPs, and capability studies for new processes
• Analyze production data to identify improvement opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Partner with contractors and integrators to install equipment and infrastructure for new manufacturing lines
• Ensure all equipment meets safety standards and is properly validated for production use
• Help develop preventative and predictive maintenance strategies
• Support training of operations teams on equipment functionality and safety

What We Need From You

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• Demonstrated experience with new equipment design, builds, installation, and debugging.
• Extensive experience in commissioning new equipment.
• Experience with material application equipment and technology, such as roll coating, nozzle dispense, digital printing and pad printing.
• Deep understanding of manufacturing processes and workflow in a high-volume, highly automated operation

All-Star Skillset

• Exposure to PLC programming (Rockwell/Siemens), robotics, or automation systems
• Experience with machine vision systems (Cognex, Keyence)
• Background in glass, solar, or other precision manufacturing environments
