Advanced Manufacturing Engineer in Detroit

What You Will Be Doing
- Specify, design, and support the build of manufacturing equipment, including writing RFQs and managing supplier interactions
- Lead equipment installation and commissioning activities, including FAT/SAT and ramp to production
- Evaluate and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, yield, and overall performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, supply chain) to ensure successful equipment launches
- Present equipment designs and updates in design reviews with leadership and scaling teams
- Support PFMEA, Control Plans, SOPs, and capability studies for new processes
- Analyze production data to identify improvement opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Partner with contractors and integrators to install equipment and infrastructure for new manufacturing lines
- Ensure all equipment meets safety standards and is properly validated for production use
- Help develop preventative and predictive maintenance strategies
- Support training of operations teams on equipment functionality and safety
What We Need From You
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Demonstrated experience with new equipment design, builds, installation, and debugging.
- Extensive experience in commissioning new equipment.
- Experience with material application equipment and technology, such as roll coating, nozzle dispense, digital printing and pad printing.
- Deep understanding of manufacturing processes and workflow in a high-volume, highly automated operation
All-Star Skillset
- Exposure to PLC programming (Rockwell/Siemens), robotics, or automation systems
- Experience with machine vision systems (Cognex, Keyence)
- Background in glass, solar, or other precision manufacturing environments
