Stateside Electronics (SSE) is seeking a full-time accountant or bookkeeper with full cycle accounting experience to join our team to perform full-charge bookkeeper functions for one of SSE's subsidiary electronics companies.

In This Role You Will:

•Perform bookkeeping duties which includes accounts payable (~15-20/week over 25 vendors), accounts receivable (submitting 10-15 invoices/week), minimal (2-3x salary) payroll, bank reconciliation for two checking accounts, and filing taxes (quarterly sales tax, and monthly payroll tax).

•Collect, review, and coordinate annual income tax filing with CPA firms.

•Provide accounting leadership which includes explaining complex or technical accounting questions.

•Support and help develop organizational financial strategy working with executive decision-maker to minimize risk and identify growth opportunities. You will use your accounting skills to generate actionable insights from technical and financial data.

•Help identify ways to Improve accounting efficiency. Depending on your experience, you will provide guidance with cutting/controlling costs

and boosting/maintaining businesses' profits.

•Provide support in managing relationships with stakeholders and external vendor partners. Aid in offering guidance and preparation of documents for financial support (credit line) which will help stabilize finances during periods of controlled growth.

•Help establish Financial KPIs (key performance indicators) to measure effectiveness and financial health of our company.

You’re A Great Fit If You Have:

•Technical Accounting Skills which require a strong background in generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Accounting-related work experience in product wholesaling, and/or professional services is appreciated. Experience with government customers and contractors is required. Experience in the pro video, security, or IT industry is a plus.

•Experience and hands-on familiarity with multiple accounting systems, including cost and financial accounting. Proven experience with an ERP is a plus.

•Working knowledge with 3-5+ years of experience in accounting/bookkeeping roles including A/P, A/R, payroll, and reconciliation. Excellent logical problem-solving, and effective interpersonal and supportive communication expression with others – both internally (other team members) and externally (customers and vendors). This role requires solid listening and interpersonal skills that will foster a positive and productive accounting department culture.

•Passion for optimizing accounting processes and business efficiency. Possess a commitment to ongoing professional development with a desire to learn new skills and hone existing skills.

•Desire and an affinity for detail-oriented skills; ability to ensure all timely financial reports meet strict accuracy standards.

•Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills. Likes to own managing projects, be accountable to a project’s success, and can express a sense of urgency as needed.

•Expertise in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint). Operational experience with unified communications including remote video calls (Zoom, Google, Ring Central, MS Teams). Proficient (hands-on experience and knowledge) in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

•Working experience with managing and processing a company credit card expense program like Melio, Bill.com, or similar.

•Adapt easily in a ‘lean-thinking’ (efficient) and growing environment; ability to adjust priorities while retaining the focus on personal and organizational success.

•Performing requested duties for a government contracting employer is a big plus.

•Be based in the Northern Virginia area with ability to work in office at least 3-4 days per week.

 

Advised Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or related field) and/or with at least 3 years’ accounting experience.

Initial Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation for this full-time position is based on work experience and knowledge.

•Health Insurance – employer pays 50% of monthly premium for employee
