Account Executive
A progressive Washington, DC research firm is seeking an Account Executive to join our sales team. The Account Executive understands how both qualitative and quantitative research can be leveraged to achieve research outcomes, and packages research products accordingly for clients' use. The role involves expanding our existing portfolio by creating relationships with clients in corporate social responsibility, ESG, and philanthropy.
Successful candidates will have experience managing multiple accounts and negotiations. They will have experience engaging with executives and decision-makers who commission research studies and can drive funding for research initiatives including public opinion polling for campaigns and ballot initiatives. We work closely with high-profile political organizations and candidates, so interest in electoral politics, social activism, and advocacy work is required.
Responsibilities
Provide sales representation to designated research teams and build a portfolio of clients to achieve sales goals.
Contribute to sales materials and maintain HubSpot CRM, including templates, sequences, and playbooks, to build and manage sales pipelines.
Devise sales strategies and tactics to drive the sales cycle and meet goals on time.
Execute sales processes while remaining compliant with policies and SOPs; document challenges and recommend improvements.
Develop prospects through marketing and sales campaigns, including events and referrals.
Create effective pitches and research proposals, collaborating with the research team for designs and pricing; respond to RFPs using PandaDoc.
Leverage company's differentiators and value propositions to win prospects and retain clients.
Effectively negotiate and close deals, managing risk and maximizing value for both the company and clients.
Strategically package research, upsell, and leverage discount programs to create value for clients.
Coordinate with research operations to match research managers with prospects.
Guide client onboarding to ensure effective handoff to the research team.
Engage clients during research to drive satisfaction and loyalty, evidenced by repeat business and long-term accounts.
Collaborate with marketing, communications, and research teams to identify new research opportunities.
Qualifications
2-3 years of professional experience in outbound sales, including client development.
Experience in public opinion research, market research, political campaigns, or social advocacy sales.
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and HubSpot.
The following qualifications are but not required:
Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
Proficiency with Slack and Asana.

Annual salary: $90,000 + 0.5% commission for $165,000 OTE.
