Position Overview:
The NDT Level II (Non-Destructive Testing) Technician is a skilled professional who independently performs inspections on materials and components using Radiography Testing (RT - specifically Radiographic Profile Experience) and Ultrasonic Thickness Testing (UTT) are a must. Rope Access Level 1 Certification is . Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), and/or Penetrant Testing (PT) Level II Certification are not required, but will be considered an asset.
Requirements for a Level II NDT Technician:
- ASNT Level II certification:
Must hold a valid Level II NDT certification in the specific method(s) they will be using (e.g., RT, UTT/UT, MT, PT)
- Technical knowledge:
Thorough understanding of NDT principles, equipment operation, and applicable codes and standards
- Practical experience:
Prior experience performing NDT inspections in relevant industries
- Strong analytical skills:
Ability to interpret complex data and make accurate assessments of inspection results
- Attention to detail:
High level of precision and accuracy in performing inspections and documenting findings
Work environments where Level II NDT Technicians are employed:
- Manufacturing facilities
- Oil and gas industry
- Aerospace industry
- Construction industry
- Power plants
- Pipeline companies
Required Skills and Experience:
- SNT Level II certified in RT Profile/UTT/ methods are required.
- Current Radiographer State Card or IRRSP Card required.
- Current SPRAT and/or IRATA Rope Access certification is .
- SNT Level II certified in MT/PT will be considered an asset.
- PMI/Hardness Testing will be considered an asset.
- Refinery experience required.
- Capable of training NDE assistants.
- Valid Drivers License and pre-access drug and alcohol testing required.
- Pre-employment background checks will be required.
Physical Requirements:
- Move, carry, and lift objects 50 lbs.
- Must be able to walk, stand, bend, reach, and climb.
- Remain constantly active throughout shift.
- Vision abilities: close vision, distance vision.
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
