As directed by the Foreman Leadman, or Journeyman, the 3rd and 4th year apprentice is responsible for performing installations and helping direct the 1st and 2nd year apprentices and laborers on daily construction activity. He/she performs necessary electrical work in accordance with plans and specifications. Apprentice Year 3 or 4 performs all tasks with some supervision but is able to stay on task and be productivity at all times. Apprentice must be registered with the Department of Labor and enrolled in an approved training program. The apprentice must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints for proper installation of electrical systems. Work will consist of installation, alterations, additions and or/repairs of electrical systems, conductors and associated materials and equipment within the electrical construction industry. He/she is able to terminate cable and conductors, install and trouble shoot some motor control wiring drawings and demonstrate experience, which exceeds 1st and 2nd year apprentice level. The Apprentice Year 3 or 4 will also maintain a level of safety on the project that ensures adherence and compliance to the LEI Health and Safety Manual as well as all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements.
