The Maintenance Mechanic will service equipment. This role performs repairs, corrections, replacement, inspections, documents, and files accordingly and reports back to Maintenance Supervisor.

Requirements:

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment; primarily loaders, shears, grapple, skid steers, forklifts, tractor/trailer
2. Perform daily preventive maintenance on equipment as required
3. Follow the dress code and compliance of proper PPE at all times
4. Work independently in the absence of direct supervision
5. Prepare all necessary documentation [Bill of Ladings, Work Orders, Purchase Orders, Tool Orders]
6. Conveyor systems, hydraulic systems, PLC’s
7. Welding, grinding, weld set-up
8. Set up and break down machinery
9. Maintain 5-S program (Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, Sustain)

Job Requirements/Skills

1. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
2. Problem solving
3. Welding and grinding
4. Sort and identify tools and parts
5. Pass a pre-employment drug screening
6. Pass a pre-employment background check
7. Willing to work overtime and weekends when necessary

Education/Experience

1. High school diploma or GED, Trade school
2. 2 years minimum experience Maintenance/ Mechanic
3. Hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical

Physical Requirements

1. Sit, stand, walk, and stoop for long periods of time
2. Able to climb in/on mobile equipment
3. Exposure to physical operations in scrap recycling facilities, including walking/climbing in active industrial yards with uneven surfaces in inclement weather
