3rd Line Linux Engineer\n\n+Permanent opportunity\n\n+On site in Stevenage\n\n+SC cleared role - must be eligible for clearance\n\n+£55,000 - £60,000 plus benefits\n\nSkills:\n\n+Minimum 2 years experience with Linux\n\n+3rd Line support\n\nThis position offers an exceptional opportunity to enhance your specialist expertise within a dynamic and evolving sector. Our core objective is to design, implement, and maintain secure and reliable Linux environments.\n\nResponsibilities \n\nAs a Senior Linux Engineer, you will leverage your background with Linux-based clusters to support a high-performance computing platform aligned with rigorous security standards.\nStrong stakeholder management and customer skills, willing to work onsite.\nAmbitious and committed to personal growth.\nAutomation-focused, eager to enhance scripting (BASH, Python, Ansible).\nCustomer service, infrastructure support, or network administration experience is beneficial.\nSupport Linux Infrastructure across multiple contracts.\nShare expertise within the team and implement best practices.\nHelp define operational processes and resolve escalations.\nBuild strong relationships with customers and internal teams.\nOccasionally assist with pre-sales or future system designs. \n\nRequired Skills & Experience\n\nRed Hat Certified Engineer or equivalent experience.\nStrong stakeholder management and communication skills\nStrong intra and inter team communication skills\nStrong experience with Linux administration and support across several different distributions\nExperience with Linux in an integrated Windows / Active directory environment\nExperience with Linux automation systems such as Ansible\nExperience with Linux scripting across several different - preferably Bash, Python and at least one other\nExperience of Clustered environments and cluster orchestration tools\nExperience of clustered, parallel file systems, such as Lustre\nKnowledge of HPC management systems, such as Bright\nNetwork administration, such as Mellanox InfiniBand mesh and Ethernet networks\nStorage administration, such as: DDN, NetApp, IBM, or Dell EMC\nExperience managing batch scheduling systems, such as, PBS Pro, Slurm, SGE/UGE, Microsoft Scheduler \n\nRole Benefits\n\nCareer Development: Be part of a team that values continuous learning.\nSkill Growth: Work with diverse technologies across various contracts.\nCollaboration: Join a skilled, supportive team, mentoring colleagues and solving complex challenges.If you'd like to discuss this 3rd Line Linux Engineer role in more detail, please send your updated CV to (url removed) and I will get in touch
