3D Harness Modeling Engineer

Benson, MN - Full Time

Productive Resources (www.productiveresources.com) is seeking a candidate to be part of our engineering team at our customer's facility in Benson, MN. As a member of our team, the selected candidate will be a 3D Harness Modeling Engineer to support the design and development of complex electrical wiring systems for advanced machinery. This role focuses on the creation of accurate 3D harness models within the digital environment to ensure proper routing, fit, and functionality across vehicle platforms.

Duties:

• Develop 3D models of electrical harnesses, connectors, and routing paths using CAD tools.
• Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and system requirements to create accurate harness layouts.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration and serviceability.
• Optimize harness designs for durability, manufacturability, and ease of installation.
• Maintain library components, harness configurations, and digital mock-ups within PLM systems.
• Support prototype builds by validating harness routings and resolving any fitment or clash issues.
• Contribute to design reviews and ensure compliance with internal standards and industry regulations.

Requirements:

• Associates or Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in electrical harness design and 3D modeling, preferably in the automotive, agricultural, or off-highway sectors.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD tools used for harness design (such as Creo or Siemens Capital).
• Strong understanding of wire harness architecture, connector systems, and routing best practices.
• Ability to interpret wiring schematics and translate into accurate 3D layouts.

• Familiarity with agricultural or heavy equipment platforms.
• Experience using PLM systems like Teamcenter or Windchill.
• Knowledge of harness manufacturing processes and validation methods.
• Hands-on experience supporting routing issues in prototype or production environments.
