JOB PURPOSE:

Perform duties to promote and support the Company’s goals and vision by delivering general maintenance services for all machinery and facilities, ensuring proper equipment functionality. This enables the workforce to meet production and scheduling targets within a safe work environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair machinery (e.g., saws, sanders, CNC routers, laminators), conveyor systems, pneumatic tools, and hydraulic systems.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks, ensuring proper calibration and functionality of equipment.
  • Replace or repair defective parts, including bearings, belts, gears, motors, and electrical wiring.
  • Work with production teams to identify machine performance issues and recommend improvements or upgrades.
  • Maintain building systems such as lighting, HVAC, and plumbing as needed.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies; identify and report potential hazards or unsafe practices.
  • Maintain documentation of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities to comply with OSHA and local regulations.
  • Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures during maintenance and repairs.
  • Track and maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies to minimize production downtime.
  • Update maintenance logs, work orders, and related documentation in a timely manner.
  • Participate in root cause analyses for breakdowns or repetitive failures, recommending long-term solutions.
  • Suggest and implement cost-saving measures related to equipment usage, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Coordinate with production supervisors to schedule maintenance activities with minimal disruption to operations.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams to ensure timely repairs and equipment reliability.
  • Be willing to work overtime when necessary and flexible working different hours as needed with advanced prior notice.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience and/or Training:

  • 3 -5 years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience, preferably in a woodworking or furniture production environment.
  • Hands-on experience with troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

Licenses/Certificates: None

Technology/Equipment: Proficiency working in Microsoft Office Suite and Cloud-Based CMMS systems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Associate’s degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Experience and/or Training:

  • Previous experience with continuous improvement initiatives or lean manufacturing principles.
  • Background in CNC machinery maintenance and welding/fabrication.

Licenses/Certificates: Certifications in welding, Journeyman/masters electrician, or related technical disciplines.

Technology/Equipment: Advanced proficiency in diagnostic tools.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

Standing for the working hours of each shift, 10 + hours daily. Walking in the Production department to different areas of work. Speaking, hearing, seeing. Listen and observe the environment for hazard prevention. Use hands for tools. Regularly lift 30-50 lbs. throughout shift. Team-lift as specified by leadership. Employees may perform tasks that require bending, twisting, and turning frequently.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Indoor working environment, hot in Summer, temperature controlled in Winter. Moving machinery, i.e. forklifts, moveable carts, etc. Uneven ground where cart tracks are identified. Air quality may be dusty and potentially require additional PPE in certain areas. Sound level below 85 decibels except in areas specified as requiring hearing protection.
