Job DescriptionJob DescriptionOverall responsibilities and duties:
Conducts the maintenance, repair, set-up or adjustment of assigned equipment using hand tools, test equipment and measuring devices. Leads the Safety Sign Off procedures prior to starting production daily and following each change over. To load, operate, and unload pipe processing equipment to maintain required quality and quantity standards.
The main missions of the role are:
- Must be proficient with PLC Programming (Allen Bradley) to support repairs and machine set up assignments to support the production schedule.
- Analyzes mechanical, electrical and operational problems on assigned equipment and plans for and takes corrective action. Makes necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.
- Record operational data, such as pressure readings, length of stroke, feeds and speeds for use in set-up and preventative maintenance records.
- Reviews production schedule and when equipment is not scheduled for manufacturing performs scheduled maintenance.
- Tries out equipment after repairs, changeovers or extended downtime.
- Analyzes and records maintenance causes of production delays.
- Notifies supervisor of reoccurring equipment malfunctions and corrective actions taken.
- Performs a start of shift safety signoff to ensure that all safety features on assigned equipment are operational.
- Trains maintenance C, B and A technicians when applicable.
- Trains general operators on the safe operation of production equipment.
- Maintains the quality aspects of the product/processes.
- Maintains clean and safe work environment in line with company policies.
- Adheres to and stays abreast of company policies.
- Instructs and directs any maintenance technicians/trainees assigned.
- Active participation in work teams.
- May be assigned to dismantle or cut up obsolete machinery, setting aside parts that can be used on other machinery.
- Manually, by hand truck, scissor lifts, booms or forklift move equipment, materials and supplies to designated places in the facility.
- Oils and greases equipment or do other preventative maintenance assigned.
- May be assigned general building/construction repairs or additions including installation of utility lines (i.e. water, gas, electric).
- Performs the duties of a general operator during meetings and manpower shortages.
- May assist with production reporting paperwork.
- May be assigned to count parts, write tickets or audit during inventory.
- May be required to follow other instructions and perform other job duties as requested.

- Commitment to the highest ethical standards and willingness to adhere to Faurecia’s Code of Ethics and Code of Management
- Submits at least one Continuous Improvement per quarter.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a keen attention to detail to ensure quality.
Minimum education level: Associates degree in related field required or equivalent experience
Experience:
- 5 years maintenance/set up experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Good working knowledge of lockout / tag-out procedures to minimize the risk of re-energization or the startup of stored energy of the machines or equipment
- Preferable experience working with Motoman welding Robots
Physical Requirements:
o Exposed to heat in the summer and cold in the winter.
o Job involves lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, exerts 25 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and exerts up to 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Requires pushing, pulling, reaching standing walking and bending. High mental and visual effort required.
o Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes to take appropriate action.
o High mental and visual effort required.
o Manual dexterity skills.
o Works in, around and beneath equipment.
o Steel-toed shoes required in production area due to physical hazards from moving equipment, machine parts, and product.
o Safety glasses and gloves required in production area due to dust, oils and cutting fluids.
o Ear protection required in production area due to high noise levels from machines
o Potential for exposure to blood or potentially infectious materials through: immediate first aid, restoring equipment to service, accident investigations, and clean up/sanitation.
Skills and competencies:
- Satisfactory company work records, including attendance.
- Ability to use hand tools and trade type tools.
- Valid state driver’s license.
- Requires a high degree of precision and control in work where damage could be considerable.
- Sustained high degree of attention and care required to prevent injury to self and others during tooling changes or equipment adjustments and repairs.
- Ability to work in highly elevated areas.
- Satisfactory completion of shop math and mechanical design classes.
- Satisfactory completion of the in-house training program.
- Willingness to work required overtime.
- Possesses good communications skills that are demonstrated by his/her ability to communicate with employees at all levels.
