About the Role
Lead a multi-discipline team responsible for the reliable, safe, and compliant operation of EMS, SCADA, and protection systems supporting , transmission, and substation infrastructure. Provide leadership in system protection design, EMS operations, NERC compliance, and OT applications to ensure high-availability, security, and reliability across the grid. Location: Tampa FL (Onsite)

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and develop engineers/technical staff in EMS, SCADA, and system protection.
• Oversee EMS and OT operations, ensuring NERC CIP/PRC compliance.
• Direct protection engineering design, standards, and relay settings.
• Drive capital project planning and execution with minimal risk to schedule/budget.
• Partner cross-functionally to support control center operations and field reliability.
• Ensure EMS software, databases, and displays accurately reflect field equipment.
• Review and approve relay settings, EMS change requests, and security patching reports.
• Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex system operations and reliability issues.
• Establish and monitor engineering workflows, design standards, and best practices.
• Negotiate and administer technical contracts in alignment with corporate interests.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering (ABET accredited); advanced degree .
• 12+ years in electric utilities, including 6+ in EMS/control systems & system protection.
• 3+ years in leadership (staff development, performance management).
• Strong knowledge of NERC CIP, system protection, EMS operations, and utility OT systems.
