Position Purpose
Project Engineer should be proficient in all major aspects of process design, specification review, and project execution related to custom engineered systems.
Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks
- Reviews customer provided specifications for the projects and ensure the project is technically in compliance with the specifications.
- Be able to generate PFD’s, P&ID’s, Instrument and Valve datasheets.
- Ensures packages are designed and engineered to meet customer requirements in a technically efficient and commercially viable manner.
- Project engineering functions also include project timelines, BOM, vendor bid preparation/analysis/selection (for engineered items).
- Works with the designers/drafters to assure that the drafting requirements and design intent of the project are met.
- Works with manufacturing during fabrication to provide support with any technical/design issues.
Qualifications
- B.S. from a four-year college or university, preferably in Mechanical, Chemical, instrumentation or electrical Engineering
- College degree or 5+ years field experience
- “Power ” / “Oil & Gas” background
- Working knowledge of ACAD
- Proficient in MS Office
Special Position Requirements
- Background in conceptual design, process simulation, PFD and P&ID development, equipment design, sizing, specification, and selection.
- Must be able to work under pressure and willing to expand personal skills and/or knowledge base.
- Capable of performing tasks with minimal guidance or supervision.
- Must be able to work in a team environment to develop improved work processes and/or procedures for the department.
- Strong organizational, time management and verbal / written communication skills.
- Able to read technical specifications and effective problem solvers with logical approach.
- Understanding of engineered products of power and/or oil & gas industry.
- Ability to work effectively and professionally with employees at all levels of an organization.
