Our2026 Summer Programis designed to provide hands-on experience, mentorship, and insight intoproject management and construction processesfrom industry professionals.

Program Overview

This comprehensive 10-week program offers exposure to every phase of a project frominception to closeout. Interns will gain practical experience with project documentation, budget tracking, change management, and field coordination in bothoffice and job site settings.

Key Learning Areas & Expectations

Project Phases & Documentation

  • Learn project roles and responsibilities throughout each phase.
  • Assist in creating accuratesubmittals and closeout documentation.
    • Example projects: WE3, Palmdale, LATTC, CEE, EPIC
  • Understand how to organize and maintain essential project records.

Project Information & Change Management

  • Learn to manage project changes (RFIs, ASIs, Bulletins) usingPlanGrid.
  • Understand how design or scope changes affect costs and schedules.
  • Practice drafting clear and professionalRequests for Information (RFIs).
  • Communicate effectively with field teams via PlanGrid, email, and phone.

Budget Tracking

  • Understand cost codes, labor tracking, and timesheet management.
  • Learn to monitor project costs, internal changes, and projected margins.

Core Responsibilities

  • Create and organize submittals and closeout documentation.
  • Track and post RFIs using PlanGrid.
  • Prepare and manageChange Order Requests.
  • Support project teams with time tracking for active job sites (LATTC, The Lot, etc.).

Week 1 Classroom Training (8:00 AM5:00 PM)

  • Framing, Hanging, Taping, Plaster/Waterproofing 101
  • Preconstruction: Design-Bid vs. Design-Build
  • Estimating (OST Quick Bid)
  • ACT/Ceiling Department Overview
  • Prefabrication & Panel Assembly
  • Plexxis Training
  • Construction Scheduling & Last Planner System
  • Design/BIM Overview
  • PlanGrid, Timekeeping & Payroll Training
  • Leadership Development

Weeks 210+ On-the-Job Experience

Interns will be paired with adedicated Project Manager/Coachfor mentorship.
Experience includes working at both thehome office and active job sites, applying classroom learning to live projects and real-world challenges.

  • Current student or recent graduate inConstruction ManagementorCivil Engineering.
  • Strong interest in project management and field operations.

  • Excellent communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
