Position Summary

Leonhardt Manufacturing is seeking skilled MIG welders for 1st shift positions M-TH (5AM-3:30PM). This is a hands-on role for individuals who take pride in producing quality welds and working as part of a team. Ideal candidates will have experience welding galvanized, aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel and be comfortable reading blueprints and working to detailed specifications.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reads and interprets drawings, blueprints and other written instructions and diagrams to perform task at hand
  • Performs MIG weld based on project needs
  • Sets up components for welding according to specifications
  • Determines the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements - can weld to desired requirements
  • Examines weld for bead size and other specifications
  • Tests and inspects welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws i.e. to pass leak check and MT check
  • Chips or grinds off excess weld or spatter
  • Sands or touches up weld with sander and/or grinder
  • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • 1+ years' experience with MIG welding required
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacturing of products
  • Ability to identify and measure material
  • Ability to produce quality products consistently
  • Willingness to learn and work to the best of his/her abilities as well as dependable work ethic
  • Ability to read blueprints, drawings, calipers, tape measures and angle gauges

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move heavy materials and parts. Standing for extended periods and operating machinery for long shifts may be required

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
