Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob Summary:
Inspects/Evaluates the product for quality conformance for the receiving, in- process and final parts/services, materials/test specimens for compliance to drawings, specifications, purchase orders and/or workmanship standards, performs the quality function on process parts, test specimens and materials in accordance with established quality procedures, inspection plans and production travelers. Reports directly to Quality Assurance Manager.
Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities.
- Follow all safety, environmental, quality and 5S rules and regulations.
- Inspect/Evaluate in process and final parts/materials using visual, dimensional methods and standards.
- Apply requirements of all applicable procedures, process plans, and standards during inspection evaluations using visual, dimensional methods and standards.
- Document/Record all inspection/evaluation results using visual, dimensional methods and standards on company documentation forms/records.
- Tag and/or segregate non -conforming materials as discovered, generate required non-conforming reports as necessary.
- Review and evaluate certifications parts/services for compliance to applicable specifications purchase order requirements and/or established standards.
- Maintain and enforce material traceability through the use of material stamping and marking.
- Perform Non-Destructive Testing (with limited supervision) per established procedures and specifications.
- Perform Non-Destructive Testing (with limited Supervision) per established procedures and specifications for in -process inspection.
- Interact with customer inspections or auditors as required.
- Maintain the Integrity of the quality control documentation system.
- Conduct Routine Calibration for tools, instruments and standards.
- Process Material Stock Requests per established procedures.
- Maintain attention to details for improvements in processes or tooling to the Quality Manager or Area Manager.
- Perform assigned tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
- Responsible for maintaining housekeeping (5S), equipment maintenance, and customer relations.
- Must be able to pass ATF background requirements.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED): with courses in Industrial Arts or Trade School required. Mechanical inspection experience or machine shop experience in non-destructive testing UT, PT is desirable. Knowledge of quality control documentation procedures and methods.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach; with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, vision, night vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to loud noise levels, fumes or airborne particles, noxious odors, vibrations from driving and traffic. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The noise level is usually moderate to load.
