Offshore Engineering Jobs
Explore the latest Offshore Engineering Jobs with Energy Jobline. The UK offshore oil and gas industry only began in 1965 and so, it is still a relatively new employment field.
New technologies and systems are having to be developed as exploration and production activities move into new areas with greater water depths and harsher weather conditions.
Presently, the UK offshore industry is mainly located off the East coast of England and Scotland but exploration is also being carried out in the Western approaches, the Irish Sea and West of the Shetland Islands.
The industry currently employs about 29,000 people including those working in drilling and production operations but also those involved in the construction of mobile drilling rigs and oil production platforms, those engaged in pipe laying and support vessel activities and those working in terminals where oil and gas pipelines come ashore.
