A welding inspector is an individual who is responsible for overseeing all the activities and duties of the welding staff. A welding inspector's job is to make sure that the welders work within the agreed deadline.
What are the requirements for becoming a Welding Inspector?
Being a welder is a helpful step on the way to becoming a CWI, but it’s not required. For example, if a person has an associate‘s degree or higher in engineering technology, engineering, or a physical science; has three years of work experience, and has passed a vision test, he or she is qualified to take the CWI exam.
Those with at least a high school diploma and at least a year’s worth of engineering or technical school coursework need at least four years of work experience.
