Workshop Technician/ Trades Assistant
We are seeking to employ a Workshop Technical Assistant (TA) to work alongside trade's personnel, assisting in day to day operation, loading of jobs, inspection, cleaning and refurbishment of equipment for future use in the Oil & Gas industry. In addition to performing basic mechanical fitting/repair of oilfield equipment you will ensure a clean and tidy workshop at all times.
Other key areas of responsibility include:
- Perform basic workshop duties, including: repair and maintenance of offshore related equipment in accordance with company procedures under direction from Mechanical Supervisor and within your skill set. Responsible for the management of the hydraulic hoses onsite and their respective register
- Maintain good standard of housekeeping practices in workshop and yard
- Complete all necessary documentation pertaining to equipment movements and repairs
- Collect the relevant data, measure and check all equipment, review all QA /QC documents and third party equipment to determine that the operation can be safely executed as per the agreed procedures
Qualifications
To be successful you will ideally have the following skills and experience:
- Mechanical aptitude
- QHSE procedural knowledge
- Good communication skills
- Basic computer skills preferable
- Forklift ticket – Preferable
- Dogman's Ticket – Preferable
- Previous experience working in a busy workshop in similar roles is preferable
- Experience in LEAN practices would be beneficial
