Job DescriptionJob DescriptionNOW HIRING: COBOT WELDER IN RICHMOND, VA!Position: Cobot Welder
Pay: $20.00 – $24.00/hour, with an additional $1.00/hour night shift differential once fully trained and transitioned to night shift
Shift: Monday – Friday, 6:00am – 2:30pm (Day shift during training; potential to move to night shift after readiness)

The Lee Group is hiring a Cobot Welder for an equipment manufacturer in Richmond, VA. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced MIG welders to work hands-on with collaborative robotic welding systems in a forward-thinking, team-focused production environment.Job Responsibilities of the Cobot Welder:
- Perform MIG welding and some TIG welding on steel frames and components
- Weld in vertical, flat, horizontal, or overhead positions
- Lay out, fit, and assemble metal parts using blueprints and measuring tools
- Prep and finish metal components by grinding or sanding
- Examine workpieces for defects and conformance to specifications
- Operate and adjust torches, plasma cutters, and grinders
- Safely operate overhead cranes, hoists, and other material-handling equipment
- Assist in product movement and proper storage
Key Qualifications of the Cobot Welder:
- 1–3 years of MIG welding experience
- Experience in TIG welding is a plus!
- Understanding of welding voltage and amp settings
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches
- High school diploma or GED required
- Strong mechanical aptitude and shop math skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to assess weld quality
- Physically able to wear PPE and work in a shop environment
- Comfortable using tape measures, squares, clamps, and hand tools
Training & Shift Progression:
- All new hires begin on the day shift (6:00am – 2:30pm, Mon–Fri)
- Once trained and ready, candidates may be moved to the night shift, earning an additional $1.00/hour differential
- Shift transition is based on performance, confidence in duties, and team readiness
