Job DescriptionJob DescriptionQLM is seeking highly skilled Welders and Iron workers with commercial and civil construction experience. This shop-based role involves welding sanitary stainless-steel piping to precise specifications, ensuring compliance with hygienic standards and industry codes.Pay: up $30 per hourHours: 48 per weekMandatory overtime
Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform TIG welding on stainless steel piping used in food-grade and processing systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and sanitary welding specifications.
  • Prepare, fit, and weld pipe assemblies in accordance with ASME BPE and other hygienic standards.
  • Ensure welds are smooth, crevice-free, and meet sanitary requirements for clean-in-place (CIP) systems.
  • Collaborate with pipe fitters and shop supervisors to ensure accurate fabrication and timely completion.
  • Conduct visual inspections and quality checks on welds and finished assemblies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to all safety protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of pipe welding experience, with at least 1 year in food and beverage or processing piping.
  • Proficiency in TIG welding of stainless steel sanitary piping.
  • Ability to pass weld tests (e.g., 6G or orbital weld test).
  • Familiarity with ASME BPE standards and sanitary fabrication practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, hygienic welds.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications preferred.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with orbital welding equipment.
  • Knowledge of piping systems and clean-in-place (CIP) requirements.
  • Basic pipe fitting skills to assist with layout and fit-up.
  • Forklift or overhead crane operation experience.
  • 5 years Iron and structural work (iron workers)
