**Candidate must be open to working 2 days on 2 days off 3 days on 2 days off (2-2-3 shift) and open to both morning and night shift**
**Candidate will hold 1 shift for 4 months, then rotate to another shift after 4 months, shift times are (7:00am to 7:30pm) and (7:00pm to 7:30am) **
Responsibilities:
- Collect field samples of wastewater, sludge, polymer, etc. from various process areas of the Plant and the outfall, and perform chemical, microbiological, toxicological, and physical analyses that include reagent and media preparation, instrument operation, calibration, maintenance checks, and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC)
- Become knowledgeable in laboratory analyses and treatment processes.
- Become proficient in training new hires in process analyses and sampling.
- Contribute to the record-keeping and reporting of laboratory data, regulatory reporting, operations reports, plant meetings, etc.
- Validate accurate readings from monitoring equipment, maintain analyzers and perform analyzer reagent change/replenishment.
- Work Night and Day shifts as assigned.
- Work in an industrial setting supporting 24-hour operations.
- Support a large team where needed with a high degree of flexibility.
- Precisely and diligently follow complex procedures and guidelines.
- Work overtime if needed to achieve compliance and support operations.
- Communicate frequently with team members and other units across the organization about the process, equipment, or potential problems.
Requirements:
- Associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university with a major in chemistry, engineering, or related science
- Valid Michigan Driver's License
Physical Requirements:
- This position requires the ability to climb, bend, twist, carry, stack, push, pull and other efforts requiring considerable physical strength.
- This position also requires the ability to lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds, walk, stand, or work for long periods of time, demonstrate normal perception, hear audible alarms, detect abnormal equipment sounds, visually inspect equipment and processes at any time of the day or night.
