\n Need to be experienced with ordering and accepting sources\nNeed to be experienced with stress test.\n\nAt this time we only do Nuc. Med 2 days per week – with 1 day dedicated to stress tests.\n\nProvides health care services applying radionuclides to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Performs nuclear medicine procedures, and related techniques producing images for the interpretation by, or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Exercises professional judgement in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics. Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.\n\nJOB FUNCTIONS\n•\tPerforms diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.\n•\tCorroborates patient’s clinical history with procedure, assuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed practitioner.\n•\tPrepares patient for procedures; providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety.\n•\tIn agreement with state statue(s) and/or where institutional policy permits, prepares, calculates, identifies and/or administers radiopharmaceuticals and/or medications as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.\n•\tSelects and operates radiation detection, imaging, and/or associated equipment to successfully perform procedures.\n•\tPositions patient and equipment to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort.\n•\tApplies principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self and others.\n•\tEvaluates images and data for technical quality, assuring proper identification is recorded.\n•\tVerifies informed consent for and assists a licensed practitioner with interventional procedures.\n•\tPractices aseptic technique as necessary.\n•\tAssumes responsibility for provision of physical and psychological needs of patients during procedures.\n•\tUnderstands methods and is capable of performing venipunctures.\n•\tInitiates basic life support action when necessary.\n•\tProvides patient education.\n•\tAssists in maintaining records, respecting confidentiality and established policy.\n•\tAssumes responsibility for assigned area and reports equipment malfunction.\n•\tProvides input for equipment purchase and supply decisions.\n•\tProvides practical instruction for students and/or other health care professionals.\n•\tParticipates in the department’s quality assessment and improvement plan. May be responsible for specific quality control duties in the assigned area.\n•\tMay be responsible for the control of inventory and purchase of supplies for the assigned area.\n•\tMaintains knowledge of and observes Standard precautions.\n•\tUnderstands and applies patient relations skills.\n•\tPursues appropriate continuing education.\nQUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION: (NUCLEAR MEDICINE TECHNOLOGIST)\n\n1.\tPREPARATION AND TRAINING\tCertification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in nuclear medicine (N) or The Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB), and licensure from the state of North Dakota is required. \n\nPosition requires completion of BLS CPR. Position is required to attend Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training in the appropriate timeframe according to department checklist.\n\n1 to 2 years experience – preferably not first travel assignment.
