General Position Summary:
Conducts training for the Recovery Coach Training Academy by adhering to and delivering appropriate, approved curriculum in a structured, scheduled setting. Handles multiple projects in an organized and detail-focused manner. Essential Functions:
-
Understand and effectively train Recovery Coach candidates in the four domains of Certified Recovery Coaching: Advocacy, Mentoring/Education, Recovery/Wellness Support, and Ethical Responsibility

Present modules in the approved recovery coach training curriculum using appropriate technologies, materials, and supplies

Facilitation of group interaction during the recovery coach training

Answer questions raised by training participants

Effectively monitor group and individual interactions including setting appropriate boundaries on disclosure and participant interactions

Circulate among small groups during role playing and related exercises to support and assist
-
Manage questioning of participants throughout the presentations of content material and assure all participants have an opportunity to contribute

During periods when co-facilitator is presenting, monitor group, contribute information when asked by co-facilitator, and when, and as appropriate, offer comments without interrupting co-facilitator

Administer final post-training content test, course evaluation, provide training certificates to participants

Provide ongoing supervision, coaching, mentoring, and support to individuals seeking certification or recertification

Assist with marketing the Recovery Coach Training Academy to stakeholders and attendance at designated stakeholder meetings and events as needed to promote the program and educate stakeholders

Serve as a liaison between employers and Recovery Coaches

Provide support for a mentoring network for experienced certified Recovery Coaches to support individuals participating in or who have recently completed Recovery Coach trainings

Discretely handle sensitive information

Travel

Some travel within the state of Idaho to regional training sites is required—approximately 25% time (roughly once a month).

Must a valid driver's license and reliable means of personal transportation

Education and/or Experience:
-
High school diploma or equivalent required
-
Minimum of 2 years of work experience in direct contact with recovery support programming including work as a recovery coach, a substance use disorder counselor, working in a recovery community center, or as a health care or criminal justice professional working with persons in treatment or recovery
-
Completion of an approved recovery coach training with 46 hours in the core domains, including the ethical responsibilities of a recovery coach

Completion of requirements for facilitation of recovery coach training including supervised presentations in a training and supervised co-facilitation of a full training
-
Must hold and maintain an active certification as a Recovery Coach through Idaho Board of Alcohol/Drug Counselor Certification (IBADCC)
-
Certification as a Recovery Coach Supervisor or the ability to obtain this certification upon hire
-
3-5 years training or customer service experience preferred
-
General knowledge of HIPAA and related privacy and security laws
-
Spanish speaking at professional fluency level a plus
-
Familiar with Telehealth and/or online meeting platforms a plus
-
If a history of substance use disorder, a minimum of 2 years continuous abstinence and evidence of pursing a personal recovery program
