ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

We have an exciting opportunity for an Technical Support Specialist position in our Beaverton, MI location! Inside Technical Support role provide timely and effective technical support, warranty assistance, and service solutions to our customers. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service experience, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to ensuring customer satisfaction through high-quality support. An industrial electronics background is for this role.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. A minimum of a High School diploma or GED.
  2. A minimum of three years experience in a related industry; thermoforming experience is strongly .
  3. Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
  4. Familiarity with industrial electronics, control systems, and troubleshooting.
  5. Familiarity with programming , electronic hardware, and integrated circuits.
  6. Proficiency with basic computer applications (e.g., MS Office, email, documentation tools).
  7. Strong organizational skills and effective verbal and written communication abilities.
  8. Willingness to travel occasionally for training or customer support.
  9. A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in the United States on a permanent basis. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Maintain current working knowledge of divisional equipment as a continuing educational program for service personnel.
  2. Notify and make recommendations, through the QIR system, to any design problems, purchase component and or workmanship failures to the proper department.
  3. Prepare proposals for remote service calls and subscription opportunities.
  4. Provide technical phone support to customers.
  5. Suggest modifications or changes in existing equipment on the basis of observations made in the course of performing service work.
  6. May perform repair, adjustment, and/or assembly work on experimental machinery as assigned.
  7. Brief engineering and sales personnel involved with a given machine, as to major changes in the status of the machine observed in the field.
  8. Publicizes and promotes the sale of BMG products whenever the opportunity for such activity occurs.
  9. Review and ensure equipment is built to current brand standard practices.
  10. Monitor and update records for machine remote connection and support.
  11. Maintain and recommend necessary software for support of customer equipment and loading of programmable items.
  12. Program components as needed for customer support in the field.
  13. Assist in ensuring all required interdepartmental paperwork is filled out and archived as required.
  14. Travel to support & meet customers as required.

ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities

JOB TYPE: Full-time

PAY RANGE: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour, based on experience. Wage includes hourly base pay with an increased pay scale when traveling or visiting customer sites.
