The Systems Engineer III will provide advanced technical expertise in the design, development, and integration of hybrid software, web, and hardware products. This role requires experience across the full lifecycle of system development — from initial specifications through design, coding, testing, rollout, and ongoing maintenance. The Systems Engineer will play a critical role in supporting the design and development of U.S. Navy Navigation Systems, ensuring system effectiveness, reliability, and compliance with mission requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the creation and integration of hybrid software, web, and hardware systems from concept to deployment.
- Integrate network operating systems, application programs, and hardware devices through system specification, design, coding, testing, and maintenance.
- Evaluate overall project design considerations including technical feasibility, cost, schedule, and potential social impacts.
- Provide technical support for the design, development, and testing of U.S. Navy Navigation Systems.
- Ensure systems meet operational and technical requirements while adhering to established standards.
- Contribute to design reviews, risk assessments, and system performance evaluations.
- Support continuous improvement efforts, applying lessons learned to future designs and development processes.
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 7 years of IT professional experience overseeing hybrid system development projects from initial design to maintenance.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
- Integration of operating systems, applications, and hardware devices.
- Full lifecycle system engineering (specification, design, coding, testing, support).
- Ability to assess technical, cost, schedule, and broader project impacts.
- At least 5 years of technical experience in the design and development of U.S. Navy Navigation Systems in one (1) or more of the following specialized areas: Printed Circuit Board (PCB) interface protocols (I/Os), Digital design using state-of-the-art microprocessors, Analog, power, and/or RF design
