Our client's survey team in Indianapolis, IN has an immediate need for a Survey Crew Chief! In this role, you'll be a leader and a key part of our survey field team, responsible for:
- Leading Field Operations: Directing a field crew on a variety of projects, including topographic, boundary, and ALTA/NSPS land title surveys, as well as construction stakeouts.
- Operating Advanced Equipment: Independently using and troubleshooting modern survey equipment. A strong working knowledge of Trimble survey equipment (e.g., robotic total stations, GPS) and software is required.
- Data Integrity and QA/QC: Ensuring the accuracy and quality of all field data, maintaining detailed field notes, and performing on-site quality control.
- Team and Project Management: Managing project schedules, coordinating with project managers and clients, and training and mentoring junior crew members.
- Problem-Solving: Applying your experience to solve complex field challenges and adapting to changing project conditions.

Qualifications
- 8+ years' survey crew chief experience
- Skilled in the use of GPS devices, data collectors and/or Total Station
- Work requires independent judgment and initiative
- Knowledge of the principles, techniques, and practices of land surveying
- Knowledge of the principles, practices, and instruments used in computer aided drafting
- Knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices and construction specifications, plans, and regulations related to construction
- Knowledge of industry specific safe workplace principles and practices
- Familiarity with Column and Bolt-Pattern layout and as-built surveys
- Familiar with detailed Topographic Surveys and ADA Surveys
- Ability to operate motorized equipment
- Ability to work outdoors under various field conditions
- Some travel maybe required
- Valid Driver's LicenseĀ
