Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Welding supervisor to oversee daily production operations in our manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in welding processes, strong leadership abilities, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality production standards while ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage welding production teams, ensuring all work is completed on time, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Plan, schedule, and assign daily tasks to welders, ensuring the team operates at optimal efficiency.
  • Provide guidance and training to welding staff on best practices, safety protocols, and quality control.
  • Monitor production progress and troubleshoot issues as they arise to avoid delays.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing safety procedures and conducting regular safety audits.
  • Review and approve welding procedures, ensuring they meet company specifications and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with quality control to inspect and approve completed welds, ensuring they meet both internal and external requirements.
  • Manage inventory of welding supplies and materials, ensuring adequate stock levels for production needs.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of welding techniques (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick welding) and equipment.
  • Familiarity with welding codes and standards (e.g., AWS, ASME).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding specifications.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues in real time.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or degree in welding or manufacturing is a plus.
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and work in a physically demanding environment.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma knowledge is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Production Supervisor or similar leadership role in a welding environment.
  • Experience with production planning, scheduling, and resource management.
