Solicitor / Associate - Corporate Renewable Energy
The role is within the TLT Corporate team, acting on behalf of a wide range of renewables clients. The successful applicant will report into a Kay Hobbs, who heads the TLT Corporate Renewables, which sits within the larger TLT Clean Energy team headed by Maria Connolly.
Renewables is a key sector for TLT and is supported across a variety of service lines and the TLT Corporate Renewables team is consistently ranked by Clean Energy Pipeline and Inspiratia in the top 10 clean energy M&A teams globally by deal volume.
TLT has been involved in renewables for over 20 years and is recognised as one of the leading UK law firms in this sector, advising on all aspects of clean energy projects. Clients include Bluefield, Green Investment Group and Macquarie, Thrive Renewables, Ecotricity Group, NextEnergy Capital, Santander, Triodos, Low Carbon, InfraRed, Blackfinch, GRIDSERVE, SSE, Baywa, Innova, Guinness Asset Management, Gresham House, NTR amongst many others.

We are looking for a lawyer to join the TLT Corporate Renewables team who is able to lead on standard renewables M&A transactions including advising on disposals and acquisitions, joint ventures and co-operation agreements and profit share agreements. In addition, you will support other senior members of the team on the larger, more complex transactions. You will work for a wide variety of clients and will have exposure to a variety of technologies such as wind, solar, battery, AD, hydro, WtE and EVCI amongst others.
The complexity of the projects you may be involved in will provide you with unique opportunities to develop your technical ability. You may be drafting and negotiating concepts and arrangements that are complicated, unusual or that may not have been seen in the market before whilst having the full support of both the Corporate Renewables team and the wider Clean Energy team where necessary.
The Ideal Candidate

- Trained and worked as a Corporate lawyer in a leading City Law Firm or leading regional law firm and you have strong academic background and qualifications
- Been involved in a variety of clean energy M&A transactions including assisting in respect of complex projects and agreements
- Able to take into consideration the commercial impact of your advice when applying technical expertise to decisions
- Taken part in business development activity and demonstrated good networking skills and an ability to build strong client relationships
- Team leadership responsibilities including coaching and supervising junior colleagues
- Demonstrated the ability to influence the shape of new initiatives for your practice group and/or your firm as a whole
- Ability to demonstrate your ability to work as an integral part of a team
- Built great relationships with colleagues you work with both within your immediate team and in other practice groups
- A keen sense of drive and enthusiasm for your role.
