Software Automation Engineer

TekFive is seeking a highly skilled Automation Engineer with experience using Ansible to support NASA's Huntsville Operations Support Center (HOSC). The HOSC supports real-time operations for missions including the International Space Station (ISS), Space Launch System (SLS), Artemis lunar program, and various commercial and satellite launches. You will join a multidisciplinary IT/Engineering team tasked with delivering infrastructure-as-code (IaC). The work location for this position is at Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) in Huntsville, AL. The work mode is hybrid with about 1/2 time required onsite.

Requirements:

* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Math, or a related field.

* Expert-level proficiency with Ansible.

* Expert-level experience with Linux system administration.

* Working knowledge of Kubernetes and containerization technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

* Design, develop, and maintain automated infrastructure solutions using Ansible.

* Create and manage reusable playbooks, roles, and custom modules.

* Support automated deployment and configuration of Linux and OpenShift based systems.

* Ensure consistent environments across development, staging, and production through codified infrastructure practices.

* Collaborate with developers, system engineers, and mission operations staff to identify automation opportunities.

* Support system audits, security hardening, and compliance.

* Troubleshoot and resolve automation-related incidents and issues.
