Role Overview:
A leading hospital system is seeking a Sr. Microsoft Software Engineer Generative AI to join their team. This role is ideal for a self-driven engineer who thrives in ambiguity and wants to lead the development of end-to-end AI applications using Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI, and other tools in the Microsoft ecosystem. Youll design and deploy healthcare-compliant GenAI systems that accelerate innovation in clinical and operational environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement generative AI solutions using LLMs (GPT, CoPilot) and agentic frameworks.
- Rapidly prototype and develop functional agents using:
- Microsoft Stack: Copilot, Power Automate, MS Flow
- Azure Services: Azure OpenAI, Azure ML, Cognitive Search, Functions, Health Data Services
- Evaluate and integrate 3rd-party AI tools like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Cohere based on use case fit.
- Develop evaluation frameworks (e.g., RAGAS, human-in-the-loop, hallucination mitigation).
- Solve complex system challenges related to compliance, scalability, and performance.
- Build internal tools and UIs (React, REST/GraphQL) to support AI features across the enterprise.
Required Experience:
- 3+ years of hands-on AI/ML experience, with at least 1 year focused on GenAI using Microsoft platforms.
- Strong Python skills, with additional experience in TypeScript or JavaScript.
- Production-level experience with:
- MS Copilot, Azure AI ecosystem
- Vector databases (e.g., OpenSearch, Pinecone, FAISS, Weaviate)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and secure software development.
- Knowledge of healthcare data environments (HIPAA compliance) is a plus.
- Exposure to traditional ML libraries (scikit-learn, pandas) and exploratory data analysis.
- Experience in full-stack development (React, REST/GraphQL).
- Familiarity with observability tools such as CloudWatch and Grafana.
Certifications:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate
- AWS Certified Developer or Solutions Architect
Education:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
