• Title: Senior Network Engineer (Hybrid)
• Duration: Contract to Hire
• Onsite Requirement: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote
• Location: Hybrid (HQ: San Diego)

Overview: Fantastic opportunity for Senior Network Engineer responsible for the technical design, planning, implementation, and the highest level of performance tuning and recovery procedures for mission critical enterprise systems. Serves as a technical expert in the area of network engineering for complex systems. The successful candidate is self-motivated, forward-thinking, tech savvy, organized and has superior communication skills. It is an exciting opportunity for the right person to help direct and advance the many IT aspects of the company.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

• Recommends the redesign and configuration of operating systems and system applications. Investigates and analyzes feasibility of system requirements and develops system specifications.
• Identifies methods, solutions, and provides project leadership in order to provide a high level of service to the customers of the department.
• Strong working knowledge, and the ability to support and further the use of:
  • Cisco & Palo Alto Router / Switches
  • Meraki Router / Switches / Wireless AP / WatchGuard VPN
  • Dell vxraill; Dell power scale; Dell hyperconverge technology
  • VMware and Windows Server - Azure AD
  • PowerShell scripting and automation
• Responsible for System monitoring and alerts including Network security alerts
• Support of the company’s virtual and physical servers and related equipment.
• Support all application and system software upgrades and maintenance.
• Implementation of software upgrades.
• Restore data as requested.

Qualification / Experience Requirement:

• A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant technical experience / expertise in: Cisco, Palo Alto & Meraki Network Router, Switch, Firewall, Wireless, Azure Active Directory, Microsoft Server, VMware
• CCNP or higher level R/S installation, configuration, monitoring & maintenance experience required
• Deep understanding and experience with routing protocols (such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and network protocols (such as IPv4, IPv6, NAT, Multicast, Spanning Tree)
• Strong background in Cisco Meraki, Catalyst switches, Cisco Routers, Cisco Thousand Eyes
• Strong background in Palo Alto Firewalls, Prisma Cloud and Panorama
• Strong background in Cisco Meraki Firewall and access points.
• Strong understanding of Cisco Identity Services Engine administration and 802.1x IP addressing/subnetting/VLSM and CIDR adept in current security technologies.
• Switching technologies/concepts including spanning-tree, vlan, 802.1q, SPAN VACL, HSRP, Etherchannel
• VPN technology including Site-to-Site VPNs, user VPNs, and third-party VPNs.
• Microsoft Azure Networking
• Sniffer-type data analysis, filtering and diagnostics
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other related technical field
• BioMedical experience is preferred but not mandatory
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
• Proven record of completing projects on-time and to specification
