Job Description
2nd / 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer - 12 Month (FTC) | London (Hybrid 3/4 Days Onsite)\n 50,000 - 60,000 (depending on Experience)\n 3/4 days per week - London (Southwark)\n 12-Month Maternity FTC \n\n Here at Burns Sheehan, were working exclusively with a Real Estate / Asset Management organisation as they look to hire a 2nd / 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer to join their Technology Services function on an initial 12-month fixed-term basis. \n\n This is a hybrid role where youll play a key part in supporting and managing day-to-day IT operations across their UK and European offices. Youll work hands-on across a broad range of infrastructure technologies, ensuring systems are secure, stable, and well-maintained, while providing high-quality support to end users and internal teams.
\n\n The business is medium-sized (around 150 people across 9 countries), so its still agile, with the chance to have a real impact. Theyve got the complexity of a multi-site, multi- setup but without the red tape of a large corporate. \n\n Core Responsibilities: \n\n Build, configure, and support laptops (Windows 11), diagnosing hardware and OS issues.
\n Monitor and troubleshoot backup systems to ensure business continuity. \n Build and rollout Intune devices, troubleshoot policy or application issues ensuring compliance. \n Apply patches and updates across servers, firewalls, switches, and backup systems.
\n Diagnose and resolve network-related issues, including switches and firewalls. \n Manage and troubleshoot Mimecast email security, including policy issues. \n Investigate and resolve access issues related to Conditional Access Policies.
\n Take ownership of technical issues, collaborating with internal teams and vendors to resolve company-wide incidents (e.g. meeting room AV, Outlook, or connectivity issues). \n Provide light-touch Azure administration support (VMs, VNETs, SQL databases, Web Apps).
\n\n What Theyre Looking For: \n\n Experience in a 2nd / 3rd Line Support or Infrastructure Engineer role. \n Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Microsoft Defender, and Microsoft Purview \n Intune and Conditional Access Policies, Windows Server and Windows 11\n Firewalls, switches, and network troubleshooting \n Mimecast email security \n Meeting room AV (Logitech) and Microsoft Teams \n Some administrative experience in Azure (VMs, VNETs, SQL, Web Apps). \n Good understanding of security, compliance, and data protection.
\n Confident communicator, comfortable working with technical and non-technical stakeholders. \n\n This role will suit someone who enjoys variety and takes ownership of technical issues, with a solid grounding in infrastructure, networking, and end-user support.
